A weekend for two without hotel corridors or tourist circuits: a great 17th-century house in the Albi countryside, the silence of the Tarn, a homemade dinner and a suite with a private whirlpool bath and sauna. That’s our romantic getaway near Albi, at Les Jardins de la Longagne in Saussenac.
The Marie Anne suite: whirlpool bath and sauna, just for you
The room guests book for an anniversary, a proposal, or simply to breathe. 55 m², a 160×200 bed, a whirlpool bath with massage function and a private sauna — no hotel spa needed, no one else around. Discover the Marie Anne suite (from €140/night, breakfast included). For a simpler version, the Elisa double room, romantic and luminous, starts at €75.
In the evening: a homemade dinner at the table d'hôtes
On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings, book the table d’hôtes 48 hours ahead: a complete homemade meal — starter, main, cheese, dessert and two glasses of wine (€26/pers) — shared at 7:30 pm. On the other evenings, a dinner tray awaits. And in the morning, homemade breakfast included.
By day: Albi, Cordes-sur-Ciel, the Gaillac vineyards
Albi and its UNESCO-listed Sainte-Cécile cathedral are 15 minutes away. Cordes-sur-Ciel, one of France’s most beautiful hilltop villages, 35 minutes. The Gaillac vineyards, for a tasting for two, 30 minutes. And if you’d rather do nothing at all: the one-hectare garden, the reading corner and an in-room wellness massage are right here. More ideas in our Discover the Tarn guide.
Complete the relaxation: an in-room massage
Round off the weekend with a wellness massage in your room, by Florence, massage therapist at Flore & Sens (€70 per hour, on reservation). Various massage styles from around the world — just ask when you book. See all our services.
